Platzer Fastigheter was one of the first companies in Sweden to receive the green label Nasdaq Green Equity Designation for its share. Platzer received the green label from Nasdaq for the first time in June 2021 and has since been approved annually in the audit. In June 2025, Platzer was the first company to be reviewed against new ranking criteria. These are based on both current sustainability performance and future performance in 2030. In this year’s audit, 74 percent of Platzer’s turnover is assessed as green. Platzer’s current ranking is assessed as “Light Green” and the future ranking is assessed as “Medium Green”.
The aim of exchange operator Nasdaq’s new green designation is to offer increased visibility toward investors looking for sustainable investments. Nasdaq Green Equity Designation is aimed at companies where over 50 percent of turnover is generated by activities considered to be green, and whose investments are predominantly in green activities.
Platzer’s current ranking is the result of long-term efforts to improve energy efficiency across its property portfolio, where energy use per unit area has been reduced by 35% over the past 10 years. It is also a result of investments in environmental certification, green lease agreements, and renewable energy. The ranking of future sustainability performance also includes planned initiatives to reduce the company’s climate impact across the entire value chain.
-“We are delighted that Platzer Fastigheter has renewed its Nasdaq Green Equity Designation—an initiative we offer to support our issuers in advancing their green strategies and market models. We’re proud to continue providing them with the visibility and recognition that comes with being part of the Nasdaq Green Equity community,” said Adam Kostyál, President of Nasdaq Stockholm and Head of European Listings at Nasdaq.
Upon application and renewal, a qualitative assessment of the company’s compliance in accordance with the Nasdaq Green Equity Principles is conducted by an auditor approved by Nasdaq. Platzer has been reviewed by the indemendent research institute CICERO Shades of Green as from 2022 is part of S&P Global. From 2025, more challenging critera have been adopted for audit that assess both current sustainability performance as well as projected outcomes of the transition plan. The results show that 74% of turnover, 65% of operating costs and 79% of investments are considered to be green.
-” Platzer wants to make a positive contribution to society by having the smallest possible carbon footprint. Today, we are very proud to have been approved by Nasdaq Green Equity Designation for the fourth year in a row. The Nasdaq Green Equity Designation makes it easier for both large and small investors to make wise sustainable decisions” said Jakob Nilsson, Platzer’s CFO.
